Rare Brain-Eating Disorder Amoeba Kills Firefighter

Boston (dbTechno) - A rare brain-eating disorder known as amoeba has killed a firefighter. The veteran firefighter was from Murrieta, California, and was a 43-year-old father of three.
Capt. Matt Moore died on Monday at the UC San Diego Medical Center Hillcrest.
He died from complications relating to meningoencephalitis. He had been in a coma for some time now.
He died after being infected with the rare brain-eating disorder known as amoeba.
The FIre Department put out the sad statement on Tuesday, as Fire Chief Paul Christman stated “he was one of our best.”
Moore began to show signs of being ill back in November. In January, it was found that his brain was being attacked by the disease.
Amoeba was first identified in 1990 in an animal in San Diego, it is an extremely rare disease.
Unfortunately the majority of the cases end up being fatal.
