Diabetes Study Shows Endeavor, Taxus Stents Are Equal

Boston (dbTechno) – According to a new study released on Sunday, Medtronic Inc.’s Endeavor drug-coated stent performed about the same as Boston Scientific Corp.’s Taxus stent in treating diabetic patients.

The study was sponsored by Medtronic and recorded data for one-year on about 500 patients with diabetes.

The results of the study were released during the American College of Cariology’s annual conference.

According to the results of the study, the Medtronic and Boston Scientific stents performed about the same. The performance was equal in regards to how they prevent mortality, heart problems, heart attacks, as well as clots.

The differences between the two stents was so small that it was virtually not even accounted for.
