De Rosa was recently one of the top toxicologists for the U.S. government, and spoke in front of a Congressional panel on Tuesday.

He stated that he told the CDC about the issues with the FEMA trailers, and they did nothing.

He spoke at a House Science Technology subcommittee hearing on Tuesday. The hearing was in regards to how the CDC handled the complaints and other issues with the FEMA trailers.

He stated in his written testimony that he made the CDC fully aware of the health risks from formaldehyde being present in the government-issued trailers. Instead of doing something about it though, the CDC ignored the warnings. They even went as far as to tell De Rosa to stop writing about these things in e-mails, as they may be taken the wrong way.

De Rosa insists that tens of thousands of families remained in these government-issued trailers, without being notified of the health risks.

Once the tests were completed on the trailers, it was realized that the Hurricane Katrina victims were living in conditions which were not safe or healthy in any way.

The high levels of formaldehyde, which can cause cancer, caused thousands to be immediately brought to new homes.
