China Confirms Human-To-Human H5N1 Bird Flu Transmission

Boston (dbTechno) - Doctors have reported that a 24-year old Chinese man managed to pass the H5N1 bird flu virus in a rare human-to-human transmission case. The 24-year old man, who died of bird flu back in December, passed it directly to his father.
Chinese officials stated that the son infected the 52-year old father with the H5N1 bird flu virus.
Researchers have managed to confirm this as fact through genetic sequencing as well as various other checks.
The son apparently transmitted the H5N1 bird flu virus to his father while he was visiting him in the hospital.
The H5N1 bird flu virus rarely infects humans, but many have been fearing that it could mutate into a form that could be easily transmitted from one human to another.
The virus has killed around 235 people since 2003, infecting over 370.
Most of these cases have been infections via a bird who was also infected with the H5N1 bird flu virus.
If the H5N1 bird flu virus does manage to mutate into a widespread form that can be easily transmitted from one human to another, a pandemic could take place, killing millions globally.

Haven’t doctors claimed that once it spreads from one human to another - it will become an epidemic? Isn’t this the type of serious news that should be on local and international news or did I get the info wrong?
