UCLA Knew Employees Looked At Celebs’ Medical Files In 1995
April 11, 2008
Los Angeles (dbTechno) - According to a new report from the Los Angeles Times, the UCLA Medical Center has known since 1995 that their employees were taking a look, without authorization, at medical files of celebrities including Tom Cruise, Britney Spears, Farrah Fawcett, Maria Shriver, and others.
A former employee at the UCLA Medical Center, James Duckstad, has come out and told the Los Angeles Times that he was one of the workers fired back in 1995.
The reason he was fired was the same reason Lawanda J. Jackson was fired just this week, for taking a look at the medical files of celebrities.
Duckstad stated he looked at the medical files of Tom Cruise and Dom DeLuise without authorization.
This means that the UCLA Medical Center has known of these problems with medical file security for over a decade.
Just this week Lawanda J. Jackson left the UCLA Medical Center for looking at the medical records of several patients, including Farrah Fawcett and the first lady of California, Maria Shriver. Others who have been victims of this include Britney Spears and many other celebrities.
Jackson resigned before she could be fired.
