Boston (dbTechno) – According to reports, many major retailers have come out and stated that they will soon, no longer be selling any bottles which contain the toxic chemical bisphenol-A or BPA. Wal-Mart is leading the charge as they begin the process of getting rid of all toxic BPA baby bottles and to her bottles from their retail stores.
Wal-Mart put out a statement saying that their number one priority is safety of its consumers.
They state that “While the FDA has not established any restrictions on the use of bisphenol-A or BPA in baby bottles, for several years now we have offered a variety of BPA-free products for customers who seek the option.”
Wal-Mart has stated that they will continue to work on expanding their array of BPA-free products.
By early 2009, Wal-Mart promises to have all baby bottles they sell be BPA-free.
This will also likely be the case for other types of bottles as well. The current bottles which contain BPA will be phased out and replaced with new plastics or glass.
This comes as legislation is now expected to propose a ban on BPA in plastic bottles in the U.S.
Canada has already established they are working on a ban as well.
