Nalgene Sports Bottle Maker Sued By Woman Over Use Of BPA
April 27, 2008
Sacramento (dbTechno) - A woman from California has filed a lawsuit against Nalgene, a maker of sports water bottles. The lawsuit stated that Nalgene knew of the risks associated with the toxic chemical bisphenol A (BPA), but downplayed the risks and continues using the chemical in their bottles.
The woman and mother of two, Lani Felix-Lozano, is suing Nalgene, stating that they knew of the risks associated with BPA.
Nalgene, according to the lawsuit, ignored the risks associated with BPA, continuing to state that their products, the water bottles, were perfectly safe.
The latest report released has shown that bisphenol A (BPA) is a very dangerous toxic chemical which can be ingested easily. It is used in many plastic water bottles, baby bottles, as well as other household items.
Locations such as Wal-Mart, Toys ‘R’ Us, and others have announced that they will begin to pull the toxic water bottles from their store shelves.
Nalgene has stated they will also begin to stop using the chemical.
The lawsuit is seeking unspecified damages. No illnesses developed by any of the family members from the products were revealed in the lawsuit.
