According to experts, too much sun exposure can is the leading cause of melanoma, one of the most dangerous forms of skin cancer.

It is highly-recommended during the summer months that people take precaution to avoid damaging their skin while playing out in the sun.

The biggest threat areas include being near the ocean or a lake, due to the fact that the water reflects the sun, increasing the risk of damaging your skin.

Other recommendations include limiting your exposure to the sun, especially during midday and wearing either protective clothing, and/or sunblock of at least SPF 15.

It is important that people apply sunscreen every half-hour or so when going into the sun, as well as after swimming.

Many experts have also noted that it is vital to avoid using a tanning bed.

According to many experts, people usually do not do enough to protect themselves from the sun.
