South Korean officials stated that they had no choice but to kill the entire poultry population to try and stop the spread of the bird flu.

In total, 15,000 poultry were killed. They consisted of ducks, chickens, turkeys, and others raised in restaurants, farms, homes, etc.

The government of Seoul has stated that it was absolutely necessary to kill all of the poultry in order to help with the containment of the bird flu.

The next step to stop the spread of the bird flu is to stop all live poultry from getting into Seoul.

The killing of the entire poultry population was ordered over the weekend after a second outbreak of the bird flu was reported in Seoul in less than a week.

The total number of outbreaks in South Korea now stands at 31.
