Tiger Attack Victims Denied Claim In San Francisco
May 12, 2008
San Francisco (dbTechno) - Two San Jose, California brothers who survived a tiger attack at the San Francisco Zoo on Columbus Day have been told that they cannot seek monetary compensation. A lawsuit is now expected.
San Francisco officials have denied a claim by the two brothers seeking unspecified monetary damages.
It is believed that this is going to spark a lawsuit. The attorney for the two brothers, Kulbir and Paul Dhaliwal, stated that since the claim has now been denied they are free to file a suit.
Back on December 25, a 250-pound SIberian tiger named Tatiana got out of her cage and attacked three young men. One of the men died, with the other two, these brothers, surviving.
The two brothers have stated they suffered serious injuries as well as emotional harm from the attack.
The man who died was 17-year old Carlos Sousa Jr. a close friend to one of the brothers.
Police shot and killed the tiger on the scene.
The brothers now have six months to file a lawsuit against the city since their claim has been denied.
