Child Virus Death Toll Rises Yet Again In China
May 16, 2008
Beijing (dbTechno) The death toll from the child virus in China has risen once again. There have now been 43 deaths from the hand, foot and mouth disease, with over 25,000 sickened.
The latest death was a 22-month old girl from the eastern Jiangxi province in China.
She died in a local hospital while she was being treated this week. She could not hold on though and died on Thursday.
China’s Health Ministry has stated that the virus is far from done, as things may only get worse with the number of cases fully expected to rise.
The biggest concern among many in China is the upcoming Beijing Olympics in August, as it is pretty clear and apparent that the virus will not be completely gone by the time they kick off.
Two deaths have been reported directly in Beijing this week, with three others in critical condition in Jiangxi.
