According to a report released by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, employees at a Las Vegas clinic, are responsible for a hepatitis C outbreak, which caused over 80 patients to be infected with the disease.Las Vegas (dbTechno) - According to a report released by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, employees at a Las Vegas clinic, are responsible for a hepatitis C outbreak, which caused over 80 patients to be infected with the disease.

The CDC stated in the report that employees at the the Endoscopy Center of Southern Nevada are to blame for the outbreak of hepatitis C due to the reuse of anesthesia syringes.

The report cites that employees commonly would reuse syringes at the Las Vegas clinic when giving sedatives.

The Nevada Health Division has already fined the clinic $500,000 after it was found that a hepatitis C outbreak originated from the center.

Medical licenses of doctors at the center, including Dipak Desai and Eladio Carrera have also been suspended pending hearings.

The fear is that many more people could have also been exposed to HIV, as well as hepatitis B and C.

Hepatitis C is spread through blood contact, which means that the reuse of syringes could easily spread the disease. It results in the swelling of the liver. It can also cause fatigue and great stomach pain.

There is no vaccine for hepatitis C.

Over 50,000 patients are being urged to be tested if they received treatment from the clinic.
