Erectile Dysfunction Acts As Warning Sign For Heart Disease

Boston (dbTechno) - According to new research, erectile dysfunction, a sexual symptom, may be a warning sign of more serious and potentially fatal heart problems. It has been found that men with diabetes who experience erectile dysfunction are at an increased risk of heart disease
New studies have been published in the latest issue of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology which show that erectile dysfunction actually warns of cardiovascular problems.
Men with diabetes who suffer from erectile dysfunction have been found to be twice as likely than other men with diabetes to develop heart disease and other problems. These include cardiac events such as a heart attack or stroke.
Over 2,300 men were used in a Chinese study, which just over 25% having experience erectile dysfunction. None of the men had any signs of heart disease at the start of the study.
They studied the men over the course of the following years, and found that 123 men had heart disease problems within four years. Men who suffered from erectile dysfunction were twice as likely to be in this group compared to men with normal sexual functions.
These heart disease problems included heart attack, chest pain from clogged arteries, needed heart bypass surgery, or death from heart disease
Dr. Peter Chun-Yip Tong from the Chinese University of Hong Kong stressed that erectile dysfunction should prove to be a huge warning sign for men with diabetes of potential problems with heart disease.
