Boston (dbTechno) – The season for the mosquito-borne West Nile Virus is upon us, as the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have come out and confirmed that cases have already been reported.
There have been human cases of the West Nile Virus reported in many locations thus far, including the states of Arizona, Mississippi, as well as Tennessee.
Many animals and mosquitoes have become infected as well since the start of 2008.
These infections of mosquitoes and animals are found in Alabama, Florida, South Carolina, and California.
The CDC has put out some recommendations on how to deal with the West Nile virus season.
The best way to protect yourself is to avoid being bitten by a mosquito.
This risk can be cut down by cleaning out spaces where mosquitoes could be, wearing clothes with long sleeves, using bug repellent, etc.
The season may be young, but the West Nile Virus is already taking its toll.
