FDA Says Mercury Used In Dental Fillings Poses Risk

Boston (dbTechno) - According to a new warning released from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, mercury used in dental fillings, tooth repair, may cause health problems.
The FDA has stated that mercury used in amalgam dental fillings could pose a major health risk to children, as well as the fetuses of pregnant women.
The FDA does not have any scientific evidence, but released the warning due to pressure from a variety of groups.
The FDA stated on their Web site, “Dental amalgams contain mercury which may have neurotoxic effects on the nervous system of developing fetuses and children.”
They have stated that women who are pregnant should talk with their dentist to seek a different treatment option.
The warning put up on the Web site also alloed the federal agency to settle pending lawsuits.
