Eating Big Breakfast May Be Key To Losing Weight

Boston (dbTechno) - According to a new study, eating a big breakfast which includes high carbohydrates and high protein may be the key to losing weight.
Researchers from the Hospital de Clinicas in Caracas, Venezuela have reported that eating a big breakfast which consists of high carbohydrates and high proteins, followed by a low-carb, low-calorie diet for the rest of the day can help with weight loss.
They also stressed that eating a big breakfast such as this can help people stop cravings for sweet or starchy foods, and boost metabolism.
For the study, researchers looked at 100 obese young women and how their breakfast habits impacted their weight.
They put the 100 obese young women in 2 groups, with half in the big breakfast group.
After 4 months, the women who ate small breakfasts lost around 5 pounds more than those who ate a big breakfast.
After 8 months though, things changed as those who ate a small breakfast ended up gaining 18 pounds of weight back, while those who ate a big breakfast maintained weight loss.
Researchers concluded at the end of the study that women who ate a big breakfast lost 21% of their body weight, compared to 4.5% for the other group.
The results were presented at The Endocrine Society’s 90th Annual Meeting in San Francisco on Tuesday, June 17.
