Tim Russert reportedly had a stress test just days before his heart attack which resulted in his unfortunate death.

Since then, the American public has not only been sad about the loss, but has also been quite concerned about heart attacks, and their traits making them a silent killer.

Many people each year end up dying from coronary heart disease without any warning symptoms ever being noticed.

A heart attack is usually caused when a coronary artery gets blocked.

The American Heart Association has stated that major signs of a heart attack include chest pain, pain in your arms, back, neck, jaw or stomach, as well as shortness of breath, a cold sweat, or nausea.

Other types of blockages though can also lead to heart attacks, without the blockages ever getting noticed.

The leading causes of heart attacks are high blood pressure, as well smoking.

Your risk of a heart attack depends on how well you treat your own body and how well you care for youself. A healthy lifestyle can greatly reduce your risk of sudden death. This includes a healthy diet and physical activity.
