Busy Day For Animal Shelters After Fourth Of July Weekend
July 7, 2008
Washington (dbTechno) - Today marks one of the busiest days of the year for animal shelters, as hundreds upon hundreds of people call in asking about their missing pets. Many dogs and cats run away and go missing on the Fourth of July weekend due to the fact that they are scared of the noise and smells of fireworks.
Officials across the U.S. in animal shelters are already receiving hundreds of phone calls for people trying to find their missing dogs and cats.
According to reports, this has not been as busy as years in the past, but it is still hectic.
People were warned all week last week about how to care for their cats and dogs, and take precautions to keep them protected during the holiday weekend and fireworks.
On top of the missing dogs, animal shelters are also becoming more crowded as stray cats and dogs are picked up.
