IVF Treatments 40% Safer Than Natural Twin Pregnancies

A leading doctor has come out and stated that the risks associated with IVF twin pregnancies are not as severe as previously thought.  The doctor stated IVF treatments are 40% safer than natural twin pregnancies......Washington (dbTechno) - A leading doctor has come out and stated that the risks associated with IVF twin pregnancies are not as severe as previously thought. The doctor stated IVF treatments are 40% safer than natural twin pregnancies.

In the past, the belief was that having twins as a result of IVF treatments put the babies and the mother at increased risk of thing such as a miscarriage, premature birth, cerebral palsy, etc.

Dr. Norbert Gleicher from the Center for Human Reproduction in New York has come out and stated though that this is not the case.

Dr. Gleicher has stated that having twins as a result of IVF treatment may actually be safer than having single babies.

He spoke at the annual meeting of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology in Barcelona, Spain, s tating “In my opinion patients are being misled and put to unnecessary expense.”
