EPA Says Climate Change Will Pose Threats To Human Health
July 18, 2008
Boston (dbTechno) - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has released a new report which states that climate change will pose a major threat to human health in the coming decades.
The report was released on Thursday, and consisted of warnings about events such as heat waves, hurricanes, and more.
The EPA stated that they believe more people will die from the hot temperatures in future years.
Those at greatest risk are poor and elderly people living in inner cities.
Beyond just the increased temperatures, theya lso see major risks from hurricanes, as well as a lack of fresh water.
The idea as to whether or not warmer temperatures would harm human health has been up for debate for years now.
The Bush administration has refused to acknowledge that the warmer weather could pose risks to people.
In Thursday’s report, the EPA made it clear that the health impact of climate change will be great.
