July 24, 2008
Boston (dbTechno) - According to new recommendations released by the Members of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, it is important for people to be treated if they have pre-diabetes.
The treatment and diagnosis of type two diabetes has been well-documented to this point, as have the causes which lead to the disease.
What many do not know though is that there can be treatment carried out for those who have pre-diabetes, meaning that their blood glucose is above normal, but not high enough to consider them a diabetic.
Those who are at greatest risk of having high glucose include people who are obese, have metabolic syndrome, or a family history of diabetes.
Treatment of pre-diabetes is important as it can allow people to learn how to control the disease earlier, pro-longing their life.
