The deaths were spread out across 6 cities between 2005 and 2007.

The CDC has stated that this marks the biggest epidemic of overdoses of an illegal painkiller in history.

The fear though is that this is just the beginning, as fentanyl is getting cheaper, and easier to produce.

The CDC reported their findings in the July 25th issue of the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report.

They conducted their research along with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and found that between 2005 and 2007, there were 1,013 deaths in six U.S. cities.

The largest number of deaths came from Chicago, followed by Philadelphia and Detroit.

The drug was so powerful, that in some instances emergency medical staff found them with the needle still in their arms.

This shows that the drug is powerful enough to the point where it killed them instantly.
