Study Finds Laundry Products, Air Fresheners May Be Toxic

A new study carried out by the University of Washington has found that many laundry products and air fresheners may be letting out toxic with their fresh smells, posing a risk to the health of the public.....Washington (dbTechno) – A new study carried out by the University of Washington has found that many laundry products and air fresheners may be letting out toxic with their fresh smells, posing a risk to the health of the public.

Researchers, for the study, looked over a variety of different products which were from a list of laundry products, as well as air fresheners.

They consisted of a variety of things, from dryer sheets, to detergents, plug-in air fresheners, etc.

They found that all of the products tested containes many different chemicals, with all giving off at least one chemical which was deemed toxic or hazardous.

There were 58 volatile organic compounds found in total, all with a much higher concentration that they should have been.

Out of the 58 founds, 7 of them are seen as toxic or hazardous according to federal laws in place.

The study is published in the online journal, Environmental Impact Assessment Review.
