New Study Shows Bone Density Linked To Breast Cancer Risk

July 28, 2008

According to a new study, there is a direct link in bone density, and your risk of developing breast cancer.....Boston (dbTechno) - According to a new study, there is a direct link in bone density, and your risk of developing breast cancer.

The common belief in the past was that if you had strong bones, you would be in good shape as you would avoid bone breaks, and other health problems.

This may not be the case though, as researchers have found that those withs trong bones actually face an increased risk of breast cancer.

As of right now, breast cancer risk factors include thing such as the age of a woman, her race, family history of the disease, etc.

A new study though published in the journal Cancer has found that hip bone density measured in an X-ray scan can predict your breast cancer risk.

This does not mean that if you have strong bones, it will lead to breast cancer.

Instead, strong bones could be a sign that women has high levels of estrogen, which is also linked to breast cancer.

This is why women who have stronger bones tend to have a higher risk of breast cancer.
