August 3, 2008
Hollywood (dbTechno) - Actress Christina Applegate, best known for the ABC sitcom Samantha Who?, has been confirmed to have been diagnosed with breast cancer. She is expected to fully recover.
Over the weekend, the TV tabloid Extra reported the news that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer.
Due to the diagnosis, she will have to go through treatment, but will not miss any work.
The diagnosis came just after she was confirmed to take part in the Stand Up To Cancer telethon on September 5th.
She is set to appear along with Charlize Theron, Jennifer Aniston, and Scarlett Johannson.
A representative for Applegate, Ame Van Iden stated that the 36-year old actress “was diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer.”
Her rep continued by telling Extra, “Benefiting from early detection through a doctor ordered MRI, the cancer is not life threatening. Christina is following the recommended treatment of her doctors and will have a full recovery.”
The new season of Samathna Who? on ABC is starting October 6th.
