Richmond (dbTechno) – According to health officials in the state of Virginia, the E. coli outbreak which hit a Boy Scout camp, causing several kids to get sick, may be linked to tainted beef.
Reports from health officials in the state of Virginia stated that they ran a test on ground beef that they found at the Boy Scout camp site.
When they tested the left over box of ground beef in the lab, it came back positive, containing E. coli.
They then tested the strain to stool samples from the children, and found that that was also a match.
This has led health officials to believe that the E. coli outbreak at the Boy Scout camp in Rockridge County, Virginia was likely caused by that tainted beef.
E. coli has been confirmed thus far in 16 children, according to the latest numbers released.
11 of the Boy Scouts have had to be hospitalized since the incident.
