Boston (dbTechno) – The 17th International AIDS Conference kicked off in Mexico City on Sunday, and continues as the 6-day event is starting to show some trends in its topics, with prevention and treatment key things on the minds of HIV/AIDS experts.
Over 20,000 researchers, politicians, etc. from around the world gathered in Mexico City this week to take part in the AIDS Conference.
As stated, prevention and treatment seem to be the going trend with the topics of discussion.
In terms of prevention and treatment, the key is to find medications that can work to help prevent, and better treat HIV/AIDS.
To do this, the best thing may be to try and increase the amount of access people have to medications and treatments around the world.
As more and more people will be able to have access to these medications, their quality of life will improve, and the spread of the AIDS virus could be cut down.
Earlier in the week former president Bill Clinton, and others have spoken about the action that needs to be taken, and changes that need to be made in specific regions of the world to continue to fight the virus.
Other topics which many experts believe will help is sexual education, which is now being seen as a major tool against the HIV/AIDS virus.
The International AIDS Conference is set to continue until August 8th.
