August 8, 2008
Houston (dbTechno) - A 6-year old girl from Texas named Jessie Hall has returned home after having half of her brain removed during surgery.
She needed to have half of her brain removed due to the fact that she suffered from a very rare illness known as Rasmussen’s encephalitis, which eats away at the brain of the person infected.
Jessie Hall reportedly lost all control of one of her arms while she was suffering from the disease.
According to WJZ.com, she is now back home after being released from Cook’s Children’s Hospital in Texas.
The actual procedure was carried out on June 11, as half of her brain had to be removed.
She will now have to go through rehab to train the left side of her brain to be able to do all of the functions which the right side of her brain used to do for her.
