Organizations Awarded At AIDS Conference For HIV/AIDS Work

The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) regional director for Latin America and the Caribbean, Rebecca Grynspan, awarded five organizations at the International AIDS Conference for their work in fighting HIV/AIDS.......Washington (dbTechno) – The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) regional director for Latin America and the Caribbean, Rebecca Grynspan, awarded five organizations at the International AIDS Conference for their work in fighting HIV/AIDS.

These five organizations came from countries including Malawi, Mexico, Ghana, India, as well as Iran.

All five organizations were awarded Red Ribbon awards at the 17th International AIDS Conference, which ends today in Mexico City.

These Red Ribbon awards were given out back in 2006 as well as the 16th International AIDS Conference.

The winners, along with their Red Ribbon award, receive $20,000 for their work.
The winners include Mashhad Positive Club, Fortaleciendo la Diversidad, Consol Homes, Center for Popular Education and Human Rights, and Women’s Sanghamitra Collective.

The 17th International AIDS Conference kicked off last Sunday in Mexico City and has been running all week long.

Many have come to the conference to speak about the fight against HIV/AIDS, pushing for better prevention, treatment, as well as an eventual HIV vaccine.

People such as former president Bill Clinton, as well as other world leaders made their voices heard as the fight continues.
