Mitts Pleads Not Guilty In L.A. Homeless Insurance Scam Case

Los Angeles (dbTechno) - The man who operated a Skid Row health assessment center, 64-year old Estill Mitts, has entered a plea of not guilty on Monday. He faces charges that he received money, in exchange for bringing homeless people to hospitals in Southern California to receive unnecessary treatment.
The 64-year old Estill Mitts faces conspiracy, money laundering, among other charges. He entered a plea of not guilty to all of them in U.S. District Court.
According to a federal indictment, Estill Mitts would receive a ridiculous amount of money each and every month.
Mitts was apparently receiving around $20,000 each month, in exchange for bringing homeless people to three hospitals in Southern California.
The hospitals include the City of Angels Medical Center, Los Angeles Metropolitan Medical Center, as well as the Tustin Hospital and Medical Center.
He is currently in home detention after posting a $25,000 bond.
A trial date is set for September 30th in the case. Among the homeless used for this insurance scam included drug addicts, as well as others with mental health problems.
