New York (dbTechno) – According to a new study released on Wednesday by the World Trade Center Health Registry, around 70,000 people developed post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) due to the impact the 9/11 terrorist attacks had on them.
The new data was released just yesterday, and is a very detailed look at the effects that 9/11 had on the health of tens of thousands of people.
The new data came from a public health registry which is aimed to track the health effects of 9/11.
The registry was started following the 9/11 attacks, and tracks the health of 71,437 people.
All who took part in this agreed to have their health tracked for a period of 20 years.
Among those tracked include residents of Manhattan, workers in the area, those who just passed by on the day, etc. Rescue workers are also included.
This new data has revealed that up to 70,000 people have developed PTSD as a result of the 9/11 attacks.
On top of that, between 4,000 and 12,600 have developed asthma due to 9/11.
