Botox Found To Be Helpful In Curing Migraine Headaches

Washington (dbTechno) - According to the results of a trial, Botox, the anti-wrinkle injection from Allergan Inc., has proven to be effective in helping patients who suffer from migraine headaches.
Allergan Inc. revealed the results of a Phase III clinical trial this week, and have shown that Botox treatment gives benefit to patients who suffer from migraine headaches.
Typically, Botox is used as an anti-wrinkle injection, but may now be able to treat headaches.
The plan for Allergan Inc. is to take these results, and now seek FDA approval.
The hope is that they will soon be able to market Botox as a means to treat and cure headaches.
Botox has already been approved for treating cervical dystonia, nerve spasms, muscle spasms, etc.
The Phase III clinical trial revealed that it was highly effective in treating patients with headaches.
Once the news was released, shares of the drug maker immediately began to rise.
Botox may be approved for use in treaming chronic migraines by the middle of 2009 if all goes as planned.
