Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk Helps Fight Cancer
September 22, 2008
Boston (dbTechno) - Many came together on Sunday to take part in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk, with the goal of raising money to fight cancer.
This was the 20th annual Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk, and was presented by Hyundai Motor America.
It proved to be a huge success, as participants took part in a variety of routes.
Some of them walked 13.1 miles, some walked 5 miles, 3 miles, etc.
Those who wanted to go all out could conquer the 26.2 mile course.
Last year, 8,000 walkers came out to raise more than $6.4 million.
At this year’s event, the numbers were not quite as high, but they still expect and hope to raise over $7.2 million.
To support the walkers, donations can be made online.
The money goes to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute to continue research to fight cancer.
