Monthly Medicare Premiums Will Not Increase In 2009
September 22, 2008
Washington (dbTechno) - Medicare officials have come out and stated that there will be no increase in the monthly premiums in 2009.
This will be the six-year in-a-row that Medicare has managed to continue going strong without raising the monthly premiums.
Medicare provides health insurance to the elderly and disabled in the U.S. each and every year.
The news came from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
They put out the information on NFriday, stating that the monthly premiums will be exactly the same.
The monthly premium for 2009 is expected to be $96.40, and is the premium for Part B.
The belief is that Medicare premiums are going to remain steady thanks to the reimbursement of $9.3 billion into the Part B fund.
It is expected though that in 2010, the premium rates will rise.
