Pfizer Sued, Accused Of Fixing Neurontin Drug Studies
October 8, 2008
Washington (dbTechno) - Pfizer, the world’s biggest drug maker, has been sued for fixing studies focusing on their epilepsy drug Neurontin.
The U.S. lawsuit states that Pfizer worked to try to suppress medical studies which did not support their epilepsy drug.
The documents which came internally from Pfizer as part of the lawsuit, show that the drug maker worked to influence the studies which were focused on Neurontin.
They did so, according to the lawsuit, in order to try to boost sales of the drug.
They would do things such as the delay the release of certain studies, change up what they said, etc.
Pfizer has denied the charges to this point. This is the latest in a line of drug companies being investigated for this sort of thing.
