According to a new report released by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, there are over 1,100 species on Earth that face extinction....Washington (dbTechno) - According to a new report released by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, there are over 1,100 species on Earth that face extinction.

In total, 1,141 of the 5,487 known mamal species on Earth face the threat of being whiped out completely.

This boils down to 25% of all of the mammals currently on our planet.

The organizationi has made it clear that if things do not c hange, we could see many types of species disappear in the coming years due to our own actions.

Their ecosystems are being demolished, leading to their population numbers to go into a nose dive.

Over 50% of the populations of these species saw their numbers go on the decline.

There are 29 known species that are possible extinct, while 188 are considered to be critically endangered.

Conservation efforts may be the only way to help many of these species recover.
