Washington (dbTechno) – According to a new survey released by the Pew Internet & American Life Project, technology in the form of cell phones and computers is keeping families closer than ever.
The survey was conducted with 2,252 adults to see what type of impact technology had on their lives.
What they found was that all of that time on cell phones and computers is actually keeping families close.
The new report put out based on the survey is called Networked Families, and found that families see the Internet and cell phones as a way to keep us all together.
They found that over 50% of users on the Internet who live with their spouse and a child go online together a couple of times each week.
Overall, 47% of those who responded stated that this technology has increased their communication.
25% of those who responded stated that their family is closer now than when they were growing up.
90% of Internet users who responded made it clear that their time online had zero impact on how much time they spent with their family.
They found that 70% of couples who both had cell phones would call each other at least once a day.
64% of couples with cell phones would call once a day to make a schedule.
Overall, the report has revealed that families are now staying more connected due to this new technology.
