November 10, 2008
Detroit (dbTechno) - Hope College in Holland, Michigan was forced to close due to an outbreak of the norovirus.
The Ottawa County Health Department has come out and announced that there have been hundreds who reportedly have symptoms of the norovirus.
This includes around 400 of the 3,200 or so students who go to the college.
Others who have been sickened include the faculty and staff that work at the college.
Health officials are now trying to figure out what exactly caused the highly-contagious disease to begin to spread.
The expectation is that the school is going to remain closed until Wednesday as they try to clear out everything and find the source.
Symptoms of norovirus include nausea, vomiting, as well as diarrhea.
