November 18, 2008
Boston (dbTechno) - The Canadian government has come out and confirmed the 15th case of mad cow disease in the country.
The cow was said to be from British Columbia, and was a seven year-old dairy cow.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has stated that the beef supply from Canada is still safe.
They made it clear that the cow did not make it into the human food or animal feed systems in any way.
An investigation has been launched into the cow to see if any of its relatives may have also developed the disease.
This is the 15th case of mad cow disease in Canada since 2003 and the fourth this year.
