Gardasil Vaccine Found To Help Men Prevent Wart Virus

Washington (dbTechno) - According to a new study, the Gardasil vaccine from Merck and Co. actually helps men prevent the development of the wart virus.
The Gardasil vaccine was initially developed to help women and protect them from developing cervical cancer.
A new study though has found that males can also benefit greatly from the vaccine as well.
Researchers led by ANna Giuliano of the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute in Florida found that the Gardasil vaccine was 90% effective in preventing lesions.
It was most effective in regards to sexually transmitted warts developing.
They found it to be over 90% effective in reducing gential lesioins in men.
These were linked to four of the most common types of HPV.
HPV is the most common sexually transmitted disease in the world, and is the main cause of cervical cancer.
With these new findings, Merck is going to submit a U.S. application by the end of the year to use Gardasil in men ages 9 to 26.
