(Update 1) Radio Host Received $1.3 Million From Drug Companies
November 24, 2008
Washington (dbTechno) - It has been discovered that a popular radio host, Dr. Frederick K. Goodwin, has ties to big drug companies in that he would receive payments to talk about their drugs.
He is the former National Institute of Mental Health director and is also a psychiatrist.
It was discovered by Sen. Charles Grassley that Goodwin received $1.3 million from drug makers between 2000 and 2007.
The big concern with all of this is that he never mentioned anything about receiving the payments, as they were all undisclosed.
This is despite the fact that many of the programs were revolving around some of the drugs, making it look like he was paid to talk about them.
Sen. Grassley has uncovered, in total, nine drug companies that were funding Dr. Goodwin.
The show he was the host of is The Infinite Mind.
