Private Medicare Does Not Have Added Benefits, Only Added Costs
November 25, 2008
Washington (dbTechno) - Researchers have found that private Medicare plans do not have added benefits, only added costs.
New studies have come out which questioned some of the private plans offered to those eligible for Medicare from health insurance companies.
Health insurance companies make up roughly 25% or so of Medicare beneficiaries according to the New York Times.
What researchers have found though is that these plans do not have any added benefits, only added costs.
With enrollment increasing for private Medicare plans, it is more important than ever for seniors in the U.S. to check into what they are signing up for.
Analysts from the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission have stated that these private plans increase costs of benefits.
That is because people on these private plans pay out more money than those on regular Medicare.
It appears that private Medicare plans may not be the way to go after all.
