December 1, 2008
Boston (dbTechno) - A new Canadian campaign is pushing for people to take part in in-home screening for colorectal cancer.
The Canadian Health Research Institute has put out a release, revealing some startling numbers in regards to colorectal cancer.
According to the report, Ontario has one of the world’s highest rates of colorectal cancer.
It is also the second deadliest type of cancer in that particular province of Canada.
When it is caught in its early stages though the rate of survival is said to be far above 90%.
This is why it is more important than ever to test for colorectal cancer and be sure to prevent it in any way you can.
The new push is for in-home screening of colorectalc cancer.
The tool that can be used in the home is the home fecal occult test, and can screen for blood in the stool.
The campaign in Canada is pushing for these in-home tests in hopes of catching more cases of the disease early.
