Beijing Uses Saliva Tests To Check For HIV For First Time

Beijing (dbTechno) - For the first time, Beijing, China is going to use saliva tests to check for the HIV virus.
A trial is going to be held throughout the month of December in the Chaoyang District to see if the saliva tests will be effective.
The saliva tests are going to be used to check for HIV, and can give results within 20 minutes.
This compares to the one-week it takes to get results from a blood test, and theĀ three-hours it takes to get results from a urine test.
Thi si sthe first time the saliva tests are going to be used in Beijing to test for the HIV virus.
The saliva tests are done on a piece of paper, with certain colors indicating a positive or negative HIV test.
The test si said to be 99.9% accurate and could help promote HIV testing.
