Obama Praises Bush For His Work Against AIDS In Africa
December 3, 2008
Washington (dbTechno) - President-elect Barack Obama came out this week and praised President George W. Bush for the work he has put in against AIDS in Africa.
President-elect Barack Obama released a video recording on the 20th anniversary of World AIDS Day.
The video recording revealed a great deal, including the fact that Obama wants to keep up the fight against HIV/AIDS in not only the U.S. but around the world as well.
He offered praise on World AIDS Day as well though to President George W. Bush.
He stated in his video recording that “I salute President Bush for his leadership in crafting a plan for AIDS relief in Africa and backing it up with funding dedicated to saving lives and preventing the spread of the disease.”
The Bush administration launched PEPFAR in 2003, the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief.
This plan has helped millions receive treatment for AIDS in Africa and around the world, and has been seen as a huge success.
