Cleveland Clinic Reveals Ties Between Doctors, Drug Companies
December 4, 2008
Cleveland (dbTechno) - The Cleveland Clinic has begun the process of disclosing the business ties its doctors and researchers have with big drug companies.
The Cleveland Clinic made the move on Wednesday to begin the process of making these connections available to the public on a wide scale.
The hope from the Cleveland Clinic is that by doing this they will be able to prevent any conflicts of interest in the future.
There are 1,800 doctors and researchers that work at the clinic, and any business ties they have with drug companies will now apparently be disclosed.
The clinic has began posting the names of its physicians and researchers, and the drug companies they are working with.
This includes a variety of information as well on royalties, and other money going through the link.
This type of disclosure in the long-run may help the Cleveland Clinic and prevent it from running into future incidents of conflict of interest.
