Washington (dbTechno) – President-elect Barack Obama is preparing to take his place in office very soon, and hopes to continue the fight against HIV/AIDS. But how exactly does he plan on doing that?
President George W. Bush received a great deal of praise on the 20th anniversary of World AIDS Day for the work he has done to fight AIDS around the world.
He received the International Medal of PEACE from the Global PEACE Coalition.
On top of that, he also received a great deal of praise from president-elect Obam and others.
This is all due to the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) which he started back in 2003 and has helped millions.
Obama posted a video message on his Web site this week, promising to keep up the fight.
He has pledged to kick off a National HIV/AIDS Strategy. The goal of it is to increase access to treatment of HIV/AIDS, improve care, reduce HIV infection, and help reduce the number of deaths linked to it.
He made the promise to keep up the fight against HIV/AIDS and made it clear his administration would not back down.
