December 16, 2008
Washington (dbTechno) - Last week, President-elect Barack Obama announced that former Sen. Tom Daschle has been nominated to head up the Health and Human Services department, leading health care reform.
Obama and Dashle have been working on health care reform for quite some time now as Daschle was working long before he received the nomination.
He will now be the head of the Department of Health and Human Services in the U.S. and is also the director of health care reform in the White House.
Daschle has a long history working on improving health care, spending 26-years in the House and Senate of South Dakota.
He was also the leader of Senate Democrats for nearly a decade as well.
He will be working along with Obama to try and get health care reform moving in the U.S. as there are still 47 million Americans without health insurance.
The goal is for them to build a new health care system which will provide every Americans with quality health care at lower costs.
The three main points of focus will be cost, quality, and helping those uninsured.
