Doctors had to work quickly as the team led by Dr. Richard Roberts attempted to save the life of the young boy.  He suffered what is known as an orthopedic decapitation.

They had to work to re-attach the head of the young boy to his body by connecting the skull to the spine once again.

They were able to perform the surgery and connect his head to his spine with the head of a metal place, as well as titanium rods.

Doctors stated that this is usually a fatal injury which cannot be recovered from fully.

The young boy, Jordan Taylor, is now recovering and doctors are amazed as how well he is doing.

The plan, according to reports on CBS News, is for Jordan Taylor to go back to school after Christmas.
