Researchers Find Genes That Caused 1918 Spanish Flu Deaths

Boston (dbTechno) - Researchers have been able to discover a group of genes which may have attributed o the 1918 Spanish flu, making it extremely potent and deadly.
The 1918 flu pandemic managed to infect 500 million people around the world, and was extremely deadly.
Researchers from the University of Wisconsin-Madison set out to try and figure out which genes may have caused the flu pandemic.
What they have found is that a group of genes actually made the virus more deadly.
By making this discovery, the hope is that they will be able to develop new anti-viral drugs so that they will be ready in the event that a similar flu pandemic breaks out again in the future.
The 1918 Spanish flu pandemic managed to kill 30 million people around the world, attacking the upper respiratory system of people.
